BACKSTORY...Those who follow the daily Ezra happenings will remember that we told you about the members of our tasting panel who were completely beside themselves when they smoked the last Lucille release!
We decided we wouldn’t release this LUCILLE 2023 Ltd. until ALL members of our tasting panel agreed that this blend was even better than the last! (Some of them have been smoking for several decades and never had a cigar like it!)
It really is a smoking experience like no other!
LUCILLE 2023 Ltd. is a full-bodied, med/full-strength 6x50 toro. The wrapper is a pristine 10-year-aged San Andres maduro leaf. Fillers are a closely guarded secret—but all tobaccos are 7-12 years aged!
First light is a HUGE blast of flavor! Dark chocolate, brown sugar, caramel, and red pepper rush across the palate. Toasted almond, heavy cream, and woodsy notes of whiskey barrel immediately follow. The finish is long adding raw sugar and leather. The retrohale adds a warming cinnamon burn.
As it progresses, molasses, espresso beans, and black peppercorn appear. A wave of vanilla immediately follows giving a lingering creamy sweetness.
Halfway, the flavors get even more rich and intense! Milk chocolate, melted butter, and aged leather join the mix. The vintage tobacco notes start to shine through beautifully. Hints of cloves and white cake. Phenomenal!
Last third, everything crescendos! Huge flavors of extra-dark chocolate, macadamia nuts, and cayenne pepper. Sweet tea, hazelnuts, and licorice emerge adding to the extremely complex bouquet of flavors! The cigar is cool and the burn is perfect all the way to the nub of the nub! Absolutely incredible!
We consider LUCILLE 2023 Ltd. to be one of our finest achievements in cigar making! It’s the absolutely perfect balance of strength, body, and flavor complexity!
